CARM – Casa Agrícola Roboredo Madeira,S:A. is a 100% family company held by the Roboredo Madeira family.

The company was born due to a reorganization of the agricultural and industrial activity of the family business, being now the responsible for the production, sales and marketing of Douro DOC wine and extra virgin olive oil produced from olives and grapes coming from all the single estates - "Quintas" owned by the family members.

All the Quintas are located at Almendra on the DouroValley(Douro Superior
sub-region), between altitudes of 100-350m, with an average rain fall of 350mm and hard schist soils.

CARM manages 200 hectares (170 are in average 80 to 100 years old and 30 new ones) of olive groves in the Douro Valley integrated in the DOP (Protected Denomination of Origin) - Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro as well as 120 hectares of Vineyards in the Douro Valley, the wines are classified “DO Douro” all vineyards are suitable for Port wine production being the classification letter “A” (highest rate), being both cultures organically farmed with absolute no use of pesticides of any type please note that at our olive growing region the "Mediterranean fly" does not appear.

OLIVE OIL - In 1997, with Italian top world olive oil technical consultantassistance we built a new olive oil factory, putting together the most modern technology of olive oil extraction and a traditional conical stone mill, this factory have been rebuilt in 2006/07 to follow the latest technology.

The technical solution targeted the production of world top olive oils combining medium fruit and sweet sensorial profiles along with an exceptional chemical analysis (maximum acidity levels of 0,1º and the lowest peroxide indexes < 10).

WINE – For decades CARM was a grape supplier (for both port and table wine) to one of the most prestigious Port wine producers – Ferreira. Since 1999, CARM started the vinification of its own grapes at the old estate wineries of the Quinta da Urze and Quinta da Pedra Escrita then recovered for the production of small quantities building a barrel warehouse with controlled temperature. New winery and maturation cellar that allows the vinification of all grapes produced at CARM’s estates, around 750 tones.
