The viewpoint is located on the peak of Mount Lousa, it has granite and stony soils, and views the left bank of the Douro River. The natural vegetation consists of oaks, junipers, strawberry trees, and shrubs.
From this viewpoint the panoramic view is unforgettable, with views of a large part of the county of Moncorvo and Vila Nova de Foz Coa.
The chapel at the viewpoint is part of the set of seven sister chapels: the Nossa Senhora da Glória, Peredo dos Castelhanos, Nossa Senhora da Assunção de Vila Flor, Nossa Senhora do Castelo de Urros, Nossa Senhora do Viso de Custóias, Santa Bárbara de Ligares, and Nossa Senhora da Teixeira de Sequeiros.
The viewpoint includes a chapel devoted to Santa Barbara (Saint Barbara), a bandstand and a bar. The festivities take place on 29 and 30 July.
